Fort Cavazos formally known as Fort Hood is the largest military post in the country!  The surrounding cities include Killeen, Copperas Cove, Harker Heights, Nolanville, Gatesville, Temple, Belton, and several other communities that serve the great Soldiers of Fort Cavazos We are located just 60 miles north of the Capital City of Austin, Texas and 60 miles south of Waco.  We are part of the Interstate 35 corridor and have a thriving local economy.  There is plenty to do in the greater Fort Cavazos area to include entertainment, shopping, nightlife, & outdoor activities (lakes, rivers, parks).
